Five faculty members in the Department of Cell Biology & Molecular Genetics were promoted in 2023.

Twenty tenured/tenure-track faculty members and 10 instructional faculty members were promoted, effective summer 2023. An additional faculty member was named Distinguished University Professor—the highest academic honor bestowed by the university.

Since becoming dean in 2018, he has fostered excellence in the teaching, scholarship and service activities in the college.

President Pines joined the CBMG Juneteenth Celebration, put together by the CBMG DEI Committee & Black Scholars in Biology (BSIB) on June 20th, 2023.

The awards will enable the students to conduct research and present at scientific conferences over the summer.
