BISI: MOCB Ph.D. Student

I earned a B.A. in Spanish and Biology and an M.S. in Veterinary Medical Sciences from the University of Florida, where I studied the transmission of aquatic animal viruses in wildlife. I then joined the National Institutes of Health in the Laboratory of Viral Diseases to expand my training in human virology.

In the Gonzalez-Juarbe Lab, I focus on developing next-generation cancer therapeutics. I also investigate herpes simplex virus replication, cleavage, and packaging dynamics, study cellular pathways involved in programmed cell death, and contribute to interdisciplinary projects analyzing ancient DNA preserved in historical artifacts. These projects reflect my broad interest in how viral mechanisms, cellular responses, and systems-level information can inform innovative biomedical research.
