A primary mission of the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics is to provide undergraduate students with an education that integrates theoretical concepts with laboratory and research skills, while giving students opportunities to grow and build a knowledge base for productive careers.
The goal of the graduate program is to enable students to obtain the best training in their intended research areas, to work closely with outstanding faculty, and to prepare for successful futures contributing to innovative advances and effective teaching in the life sciences.
Through the generous support of donors, the college and the CBMG department award many undergraduate and graduate scholarships and awards, most of which are based on academic merit and financial need.
