Steps to Submit A Grant

Provide supporting documents in MS word format Route proposal through deparment and college
  Submit completed proposal to ORAA


1. One month before application deadline: contact your pre-award grant coordinator with the following items.

  • Date of grant deadline
  • List of PIs and co-PIs
  • Link to program announcent or pdf of application instructions

2. Two weeks before application deadline: fill out routing form with pre-award grant coordinator.

  • Link to download routing form: ORAA forms 
  • Provide 150 word abstract
  • Work with pre-award coordinator to define the exact budget. This cannot be changed after the routing is completed.
  • Pre-award coordinator will do the routing one week before grant deadline. If the PI does the routing, the following steps must be taken:
  1. Get budget approved by Cornelia (Pre-Award Person)
  2. Obtain signature from Chair: Norma Andrews (via Peggy Barott), 2136 Bioscience Research Bldg., x-8730
  3. Obtain signature from Deans office, 2300 Symons Hall (drop off the routing form here and they will send it on to ORAA)
**Make 5 copies of the routing form (6 copies total): one each for the PI, business/budget office (Pam), Chair's office, Dean's office, and 2 for ORAA. 

3. Within one week of application deadline:

  • Send the the pre-award grant coordinator the final version of the scientific proposal. The pre-award office will upload your completed application package to ORAA

GRANTS.GOV PROPOSALS: Completed application with final version of scientific proposal must be submitted to ORAA 6 days before application deadline.

OTHER PROPOSALS: Completed application with final version of scientific proposal must be submitted to ORAA 48 hours before application deadline.
