Host Pathogen Interaction Teaching Group

The Host Pathogen Interaction Teaching Group is a group of CBMG faculty working together to promote effective learning of important concepts in microbiology (Marbach-Ad G. et al. CBE Life Sci Educ. 6:155-162, 2007). The group has developed a concept inventory to assess student learning, which is used to monitor curriculum development (Marbach-Ad G. et al. JMBE vol 10, 2009). This initiative, recently funded by a NSF Training grant, provides a model and opportunity for promoting integration of content across courses and a clear definition of learning objectives for students.
